Scoring
Wondering how we choose how many “notes” to give an app?
The scoring system here at MusiciansWithApps is a simple one. We have based it around the same scoring-type chart a musician would be rated on at a music festival.
1 = Fair (we won’t be featuring apps who receive this rating)
2 = Good (we won’t be featuring apps in this category either)
3 = Very Good (these apps are fun fun, but not so high on the educational scale)
4 = Excellent (these apps are either educational or fun, but usually not outstanding in both)
5 = Superior (these apps are true music education and we are proud to let everyone know)
FAVORITE APP AWARD = (These apps are true music education and incredibly fun. They make you want to play over and over.)
Watch for this icon. It denotes that a particular app has met the highest of our standard, and is keeping us coming back to it over and over. (hooking)
The rating system allows for a ‘Kid” or “Learner” score as well as a separate one from the “Teacher/Parent/Adult”. These scores are then combined to make the total over-all (hence the “half” scores). We want everyone to score high, but some of them just don’t.
5 = Superior (these apps are true music education and we are proud to let everyone know)

4.5

4 = Excellent (these apps are either educational or fun, but usually not outstanding in both)
3.5
3 = Very Good (these apps are fun fun, but not so high on the educational scale)
etcetera… (is that how you spell that?)
As with all apps, please read the full review so you can determine if it is appropriate for the skill level or age. And most importantly, have a ton of fun learning!
